Anekdoten

Anekdoten is a Swedish progressive heavy rock band that was founded in Borlänge, Sweden in 1991. The band consists of guitarist/vocalist Nicklas Barker, cellist/keyboardist Anna Sofi Dahlberg, bassist/vocalist Jan Erik Liljeström, and drummer Peter Nordins. Known for their use of the Mellotron and their heavy sound dominated by a pounding bass guitar, Anekdoten's music is reminiscent of the 1970s progressive rock genre, particularly that of King Crimson. Since 2015, former The Church guitarist Marty Willson-Piper has been touring with the band and is now a full member.

With influences from bands like Phideaux, The Flower Kings, and Beardfish among others, Anekdoten has carved out their own unique sound within the progressive rock scene. Their music showcases intricate compositions and powerful performances that captivate audiences worldwide.

Having gained recognition for their dynamic live shows and critically acclaimed albums such as "Vemod" and "Nucleus," Anekdoten continues to push boundaries and explore new musical territories. With the addition of Marty Willson-Piper to their lineup, they have expanded their sonic palette even further.
