Björk

Björk Guðmundsdóttir, known by her stage name Björk, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, musician and producer. She began her recording career at the age of 11 and gained worldwide prominence as one of the lead vocalists of the avant-pop Icelandic sextet The Sugarcubes. In 1992, she launched a solo career and quickly became one of the '90s most unlikely stars with her album Debut. Björk is well recognized in both pop and experimental music worlds and has worked with renowned artists such as Mark Bell of LFO and Michel Gondry.

Throughout her career, Björk has developed unconventional song structures and collaborated with various electronic music artists. She has also worked as a producer, receiving recognition for her innovation in production. Her album Vespertine was named album of the year by The Wire Magazine in 2001. With more than 20 awards in Europe and 15 nominations in the US, Björk's unique style continues to captivate audiences around the world.

In addition to her musical achievements, Björk has had significant personal relationships throughout her life. She was briefly married to guitarist Þór Eldon while forming The Sugarcubes and they have a son together. From 2000 to 2013, she was partnered with Matthew Barney and they have a daughter together.
