Charles Manson

Charles Manson was an American criminal and musician, born on November 11, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He played a mix of styles including Acoustic, Folk and Spoken Word. However, he is most infamous for his involvement in the 1969 "Tate-LaBianca" murders and other crimes. Manson was convicted for a total of 9 counts of First Degree Murder and 1 count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder. Although initially sentenced to death in 1971, his sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment when California temporarily abolished the Death Penalty in 1972.

The widely accepted account of the "Tate-LaBianca" murders can be found in the book Helter Skelter, written by Vincent Bugliosi with Curt Gentry in 1974.
