Downset

Downset (often stylised as downset.) is an American hardcore band from Los Angeles, known for their fusion of rap and metal with punk hardcore. Formed in the early nineties, they released their self-titled debut album in 1994 followed by "Do We Speak A Dead Language?" in 1996. The group headlined the second stage of Ozzfest Festival in 1997 and released their third album "Check Your People" in 2000. After a hiatus, Downset returned with a new lineup and released their fourth full-length "Universal" in 2004. In 2013, the original members reunited and recorded their fifth album "One Blood". Now signed with Nuclear Blast Records, Downset is making a comeback with re-releases and a sixth album.

The current lineup includes Rogelio Lozano on guitar (1992-1994, 1999-2002, 2013, present), Philip Gonzales on bass (2022-present), and Bobby Blood Ponte on drums (2022-present). Former members include Rey Oropeza on vocals (1992-2022) and Chris Hamilton on drums (1999-2000, 2014), among others.

With their unique blend of genres and powerful music, Downset has left an indelible mark on the hardcore scene. Their upcoming releases are highly anticipated by fans worldwide.
