Ernest Ranglin

Guitarist, Ernest Ranglin, was born on June 19, 1932 in Manchester, Jamaica. Starting with the ukulele and later switching to guitar, he played with local bands before helping create the ska phenomenon in the 1950s. Collaborating with musicians from Jamaica and the Bahamas, Ranglin recorded numerous records. In 1964, he became resident jazz guitarist at Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London for 9 months, marking the beginning of his international career. With multiple recordings and awards under his belt, Ranglin has made a significant impact on the music industry.
