George Jackson

George Jackson was an American songwriter and producer, born on March 12, 1945 in Mississippi. He began his recording career in the early 1960s under Ike Turner's label. Throughout the 1960s, he toured extensively while writing songs and recording music. Eventually, he found himself at Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals where he worked as a writer and producer.

During his time at Fame Recording Studios, Jackson wrote one of his most famous songs, "One Bad Apple". This song became a number one hit in 1971 when it was performed by *The Osmonds*. In addition to this success, Jackson also wrote or co-wrote hit songs for artists such as Candi Staton, Clarence Carter, James Brown, Bob Seger, Wilson Pickett and many others.

Tragically, George Jackson passed away on April 14th, 2013 at the age of 68 due to cancer. His contributions to the music industry will always be remembered and cherished.
