Gregg Allman

Gregg Allman was a renowned American musician, born on December 8, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed away on May 27th, 2017 in Savannah, Georgia at the age of 69 due to complications from liver cancer. As the brother of Duane Allman and former husband of actress and singer Cher, Gregg's musical journey began with his brother in bands like The Escorts and The Allman Joys. After moving to California, they formed The Hour Glass under Liberty Records. However, after two psychedelic releases that didn't sit well with Duane, the band disbanded.

Tired of going solo, Gregg rejoined his brother in what would become The Allman Brothers Band as their lead vocalist. This marked a new chapter for Gregg and solidified their place in music history. With their unique blend of rock and blues influences, the band became iconic within the industry.

Gregg Allman's contributions to music will always be remembered. His passing is mourned by fans worldwide but his legacy lives on through his timeless music.
