Heartbreakers

New York City-based band formed by Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan in April 1975 after they left the New York Dolls. Richard Hell was brought in to play bass and share songwriting and vocals, and in July, Walter Lure joined on rhythm guitar. In 1976, Hell's increasing effort to sideline Johnny led to Johnny and Jerry firing him, and Billy Rath was brought in to handle bass duties.

The Heartbreakers are a legendary rock band known for their influential sound that emerged from the vibrant New York punk scene of the 1970s. With their raw energy and rebellious spirit, they captured the essence of punk rock with their explosive live performances.

The band's lineup may have changed over the years, but their impact on music remains undeniable. From their early days as members of the New York Dolls to forming their own group, The Heartbreakers have left an indelible mark on rock 'n' roll history.
