John Carpenter

John Carpenter is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, editor and composer. Born on January 16, 1948 in Carthage, New York, he is known for directing movies such as "Assault On Precinct 13", "The Fog", "Escape From New York", "The Thing", and "Halloween". Carpenter himself composed most of the soundtracks for his films, often collaborating with Alan Howarth. His father Howard Carpenter and son Cody Carpenter are also talented composer/musicians. He was previously married to actress Adrienne Barbeau from 1979 to 1984.

In addition to his work in film, John Carpenter's music has had a significant impact. In the eighties, dancey versions of his music were released on LPs and a series of 12" records. These recordings were created by [a243061], although their involvement was not always mentioned on the album sleeves.
