Kitchens of Distinction

Kitchens of Distinction is a British alternative rock band formed in Tooting, London in the mid-1980s. The trio consists of Patrick Fitzgerald on vocals and bass, Julian Swales on guitar, and Dan Goodwin on drums. They derived their name from a Hygena advertisement.

With their unique blend of dreamy melodies and atmospheric soundscapes, Kitchens of Distinction quickly gained recognition in the indie music scene. Drawing inspiration from various genres including shoegaze and post-punk, they created a distinct sonic identity that set them apart from their contemporaries.

Often compared to artists such as Catherine Wheel, Medicine, and Ride among others, Kitchens of Distinction carved out their own niche with introspective lyrics and lush instrumentation. Their discography includes critically acclaimed albums like "Love Is Hell" and "The Death of Cool," which showcase their artistic prowess and musical evolution over the years.
