Liquid Liquid

Liquid Liquid is an early-80s band that gained recognition on the legendary 99 Records label. They are often mentioned for their track "Cavern," which was sampled by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five for their hit single "White Lines." Originally known as The Liquid Idiot, the band underwent a transformation and focused on a more percussive sound. They even encouraged audience members to bring their own percussion instruments to their shows. One such occasion led to the addition of Dennis Young, who impressed them with his marimba skills. Liquid Liquid developed a unique style they called 'big beat.' Despite their early success, they continue to create new music in collaboration with DFA.
