Q65

Q65 is a Dutch rock band that was formed in 1965 in The Hague. They burst onto the music scene with their debut track 'You're The Victor', which showcased their wild and rhythmic sound inspired by the Pretty Things. Their follow-up single, 'The Life I Live', further solidified their reputation with its searing slice of R&B.

In an unconventional move to promote their music, Q65 traveled to London but were denied work permits. Undeterred, they made the journey back to The Netherlands on a rubber lifeboat, taking nearly 12 hours to cross the Channel. Upon landing at the Scheveningen Pier, they were greeted by an overwhelming crowd of almost 30,000 fans who were treated to an unforgettable open-air concert.

The band's debut album 'Revolution' was released in 1966 and showcased a blend of original material and R&B standards. Notably, it featured a captivating 13-minute rendition of Sonny Boy Williamson's 'Bring It On Home'. In 1967, Q65 released the 'Kjoe Blues EP' as their sound began to evolve into more psychedelic territory.

After a brief hiatus due to one member being drafted into the army, Q65 regrouped in 1970 and released their new album titled 'Afganistan'. However, it was their third and final album 'We Are Gonna Make It', released in 1971
