Roots Radics

Initially teaming together in 1978 as members of the Channel One studio session group, dubbed the Revolutionaries, Roots Radics evolved from this foundation. The band's genesis traces back to Morris "Blacker" Wellington's band, the Morwells, featuring future Roots Radics members Errol 'Flabba Holt' Carter on bass and Eric 'Bingi Bunny' Lamont on guitar. Over time, they were joined by a talented roster of musicians including Dwight Pickney, Wycliffe 'Steely' Johnson, Lincoln 'Style' Scott, Gladstone 'Gladdy' Anderson, Christopher 'Sky Juice' Burt and Noel 'Scully' Simms. Together with additional fill-in musicians when needed and a horn section comprised of David Madden, 'Deadly' Headley Bennett and Dean Fraser - the Roots Radics became pioneers of the dancehall style that dominated reggae music in the early eighties.

The Roots Radics have supported renowned artists such as *Bunny Wailer*, *Gregory Isaacs*, *Barrington Levy*, *Israel Vibration*, *Sugar Minott*, *Wailing Souls*, and *Prince Far I*. Their extensive discography showcases their musical prowess and includes several albums that have left an indelible mark on reggae music.
