Saint Vitus

Saint Vitus is a highly influential American doom metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1979 under the name Tyrant, they soon changed their name to Saint Vitus after the Black Sabbath song "St. Vitus' Dance". With main influences of Sabbath and Black Flag, Saint Vitus recorded several albums and EPs with different line-ups throughout their career.

The band's original line-up consisted of Dave Chandler on guitar and vocals, Mark Adams on bass, Armando Acosta on drums, and Scott Reagers on vocals. They released two albums ("Saint Vitus" & "Hallow's Victim") and an EP ("The Walking Dead"). After Reagers left the band, he was replaced by The Obsessed frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich who recorded three studio albums, a live album, and an EP with Saint Vitus.

Following Weinrich's departure in 1991, Saint Vitus went on hiatus but eventually found Christian Lindersson as his replacement. Lindersson recorded one album before being replaced by original vocalist Scott Reagers for their final album "Die Healing". After disbanding in 1996, Saint Vitus reformed again in 2008 with a lineup that headlined the Roadburn Festival in 2009. Drummer Armando Acosta was later replaced by Henry Vasquez due to health concerns.
