Schoolboy Q

Quincy Matthew Hanley, better known as Schoolboy Q, is an American hip hop recording artist from South Central Los Angeles. He signed with Top Dawg Entertainment in 2009 and later secured a contract with Interscope Records. Schoolboy Q is also a member of the hip hop supergroup Black Hippy, alongside Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Kendrick Lamar.

In 2008, he released his first mixtape titled ScHoolboy Turned Hustla followed by Gangsta & Soul in 2009. In January 2011, he released his first independent album Setbacks which reached number 100 on the US Billboard 200 chart. His second independent album Habits & Contradictions was released in early 2012 and debuted at number 111 on the same chart.

After signing with Interscope Records, Schoolboy Q recorded his major-label debut studio album Oxymoron which was released in February 2014 and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. The album featured successful singles such as "Collard Greens", "Man of the Year", "Break the Bank", "Studio" and "Hell of a Night".
