Sonny Stitt

Sonny Stitt was an American jazz musician known for his skill on the alto and tenor saxophone. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1924, he made a name for himself in the 60's jazz scene before gaining recognition in the UK jazz funk scene during the mid-70's. Prior to these recordings, Sonny Stitt played with Tiny Bradshaw's band in the 40's.

His unique style and virtuosity on both saxophones set him apart from other musicians of his time. Influenced by artists such as Dexter Gordon, Phil Woods, and Gene Ammons, Stitt created a sound that was all his own.

Although he passed away in Washington, D.C. in 1982, Sonny Stitt's music continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world. His contributions to jazz will always be remembered and cherished.
