PLG UK Catalog

PLG UK Catalog is a British record company that was established on July 1, 1973. It was the parent company behind the EMI record division and owned various trademarks and imprints such as *Columbia Grafonola*, *HMV*, and *Roulette*. The company manufactured records at their plant in Middlesex. In 1978, EMI Ltd. reorganized its records division under the newly formed division called EMI Music Europe & International. In 2004, the majority of these imprints were reassigned to sister company EMI (IP) Ltd. PLG UK Catalog remained a subsidiary of EMI Ltd. until it was sold to PLG Holdco Ltd., which was later purchased by Warner Music Group.

In September 2012, certain US and select international interests of PLG UK Catalog were acquired by Vivendi S.A., owner of Universal Music Group. The bulk of the catalog was merged and spun off for sale. Prior to being acquired by Warner Music Group, PLG UK Catalog's rights were transferred to Parlophone Records Ltd.

PLG UK Catalog played a significant role in representing iconic artists such as *The Beatles*, *John Lennon*, *Ringo Starr*, and *George Harrison*. Their rights to master recordings remained with UMG under Calderstone Productions Limited.
