Au Pairs

Au Pairs were a British post punk band formed in Birmingham in 1978. The original members included Lesley Woods on guitar and vocals, Paul Foad on guitar and vocals, Jane Munro on bass, and Pete Hammond on drums.

During their active years from 1978 to 1983, Au Pairs gained recognition for their unique sound that blended elements of punk rock with feminist politics. Their music was characterized by sharp lyrics and powerful guitar-driven melodies.

Influenced by bands like Delta 5, Essential Logic, and The Raincoats, Au Pairs carved out their own distinct place in the post punk scene. They were known for their energetic live performances and thought-provoking songs that tackled social issues such as gender inequality and political unrest.
