Deadmau5

Deadmau5 is a progressive house/minimal trance and techno producer and DJ. Born as Joel Zimmerman on January 5, 1981 in Ontario, Canada, he first released music in 2000 under the name Karma K before adopting the alias Deadmau5 in 2005.

In 2007, Deadmau5 established his own label called Mau5trap Recordings. The name Deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse") originated from an incident where a mouse crawled into Zimmerman's computer. To create a website login name, he abbreviated "dead mouse" to "deadmau5".

With a unique sound that blends various genres together, Deadmau5 has become one of the most influential electronic music artists of our time. His captivating performances and innovative productions have earned him a dedicated fan base worldwide.
