Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra, known as "The Voice," was a highly successful US singer and actor with Italian origins. Born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey, he began his musical career in the swing era and became a solo artist after signing with Columbia Records in March 1943. Despite being dropped by the label in June '52, Sinatra's talent led him to sign a seven-year recording contract with Capitol Records in 1953. He later founded his own record label, Reprise Records, and toured internationally. Sinatra was also associated with the Rat Pack and had close ties to President John F. Kennedy.

Sinatra had three children from his first marriage to Nancy Barbato: Nancy Sinatra (singer/artist), Frank Sinatra Jr. (musician), and Tina Sinatra (TV producer). He went on to marry actresses Ava Gardner (1951-1957) and Mia Farrow (1966-1968), before marrying model/showgirl Barbara Marx in 1976.

With a rich vocal style that captivated audiences worldwide, Frank Sinatra's music continues to be celebrated today. His influence can be heard in artists such as Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., and many others.
