Stockholm-based musician and vocalist Jonatan Leandoer 127 surfaced online in the summer of 2016 with a set of skeletal, exploratory tracks featuring a raw blend of voice, electronics and acoustic instrumentation paired with haunting and ethereal visuals, painting a solitary yet hopeful image of a young human balancing the fine line between sanity and madness. These tracks were later gathered on the self-released Psychopath Ballads cassette at the end of 2016, a low-key DIY release that quickly became something of an underground classic.
Follow-up EP Katla (named after the feared dragon in Astrid Lindgrens classic book The Brothers Lionheart) released in 2017 and consisted of six tracks recorded in 2015, all of them produced and mixed by Benji Keating aka Palmistry; a surreal, minor key journey through an ambient terroir shrouded in darkness with it´s melodical aspects acting as specs of guiding light.
On his new album Nectar (created together with Danish composer Fredrik Valentin), Jonatan explores a slightly more illuminated area of the indie spectrum through guitar-based, abstract storytelling - acting like an idle crooner, wandering the soundscapes of pop music´s recent past trying to re-build his own fractured memories and cognition, peeling away through diverse layers of emotions and expressions along the way.
