Letta Mbulu

Letta Mbulu is a South African singer, born on August 23, 1942, and raised in Soweto. She gained early recognition as part of the King Kong musical ensemble during her teenage years. However, due to the political climate in her home country, she left for the USA in the sixties. In America, she collaborated with renowned artists such as Harry Belafonte and Cannonball Adderley. Letta's captivating voice can also be heard on the soundtrack of the highly successful TV series "Roots". Married to Caiphus Semenya, after 26 years of self-imposed exile, Letta returned to South Africa.
