Demon is a UK 80s New Wave label that was founded by Elvis Costello, Andrew Lauder, and the company behind the label in 1980. In 1998, the label was acquired by Music Collection International and merged with its Westside Records operation. Today, Demon forms part of the Demon Music Group Ltd.

Initially a British folk-rock combo called Tyrannosaurus Rex, fronted by guitarist/vocalist Marc Bolan. They became glam rock pioneers and shortened their name to T. Rex in 1970. They had a series of top ten hits in the UK, including four number one singles. In America, the group only had one major hit - "Bang a Gong (Get It On)". They retained a following until Marc Bolan's death in 1977.
T Rex was an influential artist who started as a folk-rock band known as Tyrannosaurus Rex before transitioning into glam rock under the shortened name T. Rex. Led by the talented guitarist and vocalist Marc Bolan, they achieved great success with numerous top ten hits in the UK, including four number one singles. Although their popularity was limited in America, they did have one major hit with "Bang a Gong (Get It On)". Despite Marc Bolan's untimely death in 1977, T Rex continued to maintain a dedicated fan base.

Remastered by Tony Visconti, this classic album - released in July 1972 on the back of three chart-topping T.Rex lps - provides a perfect snapshot of the era the press dubbed 'T Rextasy' and is proof of Bolan's extraordinary and enduring appeal across the generations. The Slider contained two UK number 1 hit singles, Telegram Sam and Metal Guru - the latter famously regarded by Morrissey as 'pop perfection'. It was the first to bear the T Rex wax co imprint, a seal of approval from EMI records, who felt Bolan sufficiently important to warrant having his own record label.
