The Cherry Pop label is dedicated to releasing interesting pop music from the 1980s and early 1990s. The RAH Band is a British studio project group, led by Richard A. Hewson, an accomplished arranger and multi-instrumentalist. In 1976, Hewson decided to produce, write, and play on his own records under the name RAH Band. Their instrumental track "The Crunch" climbed into the UK Top 10 in 1977, followed by "Falcon" in 1980 which started a string of dance hits for the band. With vocals by his wife Liz Hewson, their track "(I Can't) Turn Back The Hands Of Time" became another Top 10 single in the UK.

Over the years, the band has achieved seven UK hits and released records on various labels including DJM Records, KR, TMT Records, S.O.U.N.D. Recordings, RCA, and Supreme Records.

With their unique blend of musical talent and catchy dance tracks, The RAH Band continues to captivate audiences with their energetic sound.

The Rah Band was formed by Richard Anthony Hewson (RAH) in 1977, and launched with ‘The Crunch’, a strange compelling instrumental which was a mixture of glam stomp, space age jazz and futuristic pop that was recorded DIY style in his bedroom.

The single reached No.6 in the UK singles chart and launched a career that has spanned 25 studio and compilation albums and over 40 singles, enjoying chart and sales success in both the UK and a number of overseas territories.

Richard Hewson is still recording today and this collection of his recordings covering the period 1977-1984 maps his illustrious beginnings and reveal a singular talent able to filter jazz and jazz funk through pop to both creative and commercial effect.
