The Sweet

The Sweet is a British rock band that formed in 1966. The original members included drummer *Michael Thomas Tucker* and vocalist *Brian Francis Connolly*. They started as part of a band called [a2257598], playing Motown, R&B, and psychedelia. After breaking away to form their own group, they were joined by bassist *Steve Norman Priest* and guitarist *[a5543814]*. Despite releasing four unsuccessful singles, the band found success when they signed with RCA and began working with the hit-making duo Chinn and Chapman.

Known for their glam-rock image, The Sweet had a string of Top 10 hits in the 1970s. However, as they focused more on albums rather than singles, their chart success declined. In 1974, they recorded the album "Sweet Fanny Adams" without Chinn and Chapman's assistance. Although it reached number 27 on the charts, it quickly disappeared after two weeks.

Since then, various versions of The Sweet have emerged over the years with different line-ups featuring up to two original members at a time. In 1992, two versions of the band - [a=Andy Scott's Sweet] & [A=Brian Connolly Sweet] - began touring regularly. Tragically, Brian Connolly passed away in 1997 due to a muscular disorder. Andy Scott continues to tour with his version of The Sweet today.
