Album artwork for Songs From Robin Hood Lane by Alex Chilton

Originally recorded in the 1990s, Songs From Robin Hood Lane finds Alex Chilton tackling a variety of tunes that he first heard as a kid in the 50s, growing up in a Memphis suburb on a street called Robin Hood Lane. Available here on LP and CD.

Chilton is accompanied on seven tracks by a jazz trio of acoustic bass, drums and piano on songs originally made popular by Chet Baker, Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Bobby Blue Bland, and the Great American Songbook. Many of the songs he learned from his father Sidney Chilton, a jazz trumpeter and pianist. It features some of his most expressive singing from his time as a solo artist. This is a great lazy Sunday afternoon record to listen to and curl up with someone you love.

This album includes 4 previously unreleased tracks and 3 super rare tracks –– all out of print. Package includes never before seen family photos.
