Jawbreaker

Jawbreaker is an emo/punk rock band that originated in New York University in the mid 1980's. They later relocated to San Francisco, CA's Mission District. The band released several albums and made appearances on various independent labels before signing with a major label in 1994. Despite their major label debut receiving mixed reviews, the band gained a dedicated fan base. Internal tensions and criticism from fans led to their split in 1996. Since then, the members pursued other musical projects and personal endeavors.

Following their split, Jawbreaker's members went on to perform with different acts, including Blake Schwarzenbach's Jets To Brazil. Additionally, Blake and Chris Bauermeister returned to college for further education while Adam Pfahler resurrected Blackball Records to reissue Jawbreaker's out of print music as well as release records by other bands he has been involved with.

In a highly anticipated reunion, Jawbreaker came back together in 2017 after more than two decades apart. Fans eagerly awaited their return and the band continues to be celebrated for their influential contributions to emo/punk rock music.
