Bow Wow Wow

Bow Wow Wow is a British band formed in 1980 by Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of the Sex Pistols. Originally members of Adam And The Ants, they were advised by McLaren to recruit a talented 14-year-old singer named Annabella Lwin. Known for their unique style featuring Burundi-style drumming and Lwin's diverse vocals, ranging from screaming to ritual chants, Bow Wow Wow achieved early success in the UK after signing with RCA.

In the US, they gained recognition with their cover of the classic 1965 single "I Want Candy" by The Strangeloves. However, controversy surrounded their first US LP release in 1982 due to its controversial album cover depicting a nude Lwin alongside clothed band members. In 1984, the band split up, with Lwin pursuing a solo career as "Annabella" while the remaining members formed "Chiefs Of Relief".
