Chico Hamilton

Chico Hamilton was an influential American jazz drummer born on September 20, 1921 in Los Angeles, California. He was known for his unique style and innovative approach to drumming. Chico's musical talent ran in the family, as he was the brother of Bernie Hamilton and father of Forest Hamilton and Denise Hamilton.

Throughout his career, Chico collaborated with various renowned artists including Bobby Hutcherson, Jackie McLean, Andrew Hill, Duke Pearson, Elvin Jones, Lou Donaldson, Oliver Nelson, Reuben Wilson and many more. His contributions to the jazz genre were highly regarded and he left a lasting impact on the music industry.

Tragically, Chico passed away on November 25th, 2013 in New York City. Despite his untimely departure from this world, his legacy lives on through his timeless music that continues to inspire generations of musicians.
