Chrissie Hynde

Chrissie Hynde is a post-punk singer-songwriter, born on September 7, 1951 in Akron, Ohio, USA. She has been the lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter with the group The Pretenders since 1978. Known for her powerful vocals and distinctive guitar playing, Hynde has also collaborated with various artists in different musical genres including dance.

From 1984 to 1990, she was married to Jim Kerr. Hynde's brother is Terry Hynde.
