Cryptopsy

Cryptopsy is a Canadian death metal band that was formed in 1992. Originally known as Necrosis, the band quickly changed their name to Cryptopsy and released their first demo, "Ungentle Exhumation," in 1993. The following year, they gained recognition with the release of their debut full-length album, "Blasphemy Made Flesh." However, it was their 1996 release, "None So Vile," that solidified their reputation as one of the most brutal bands in the underground scene.

After the departure of vocalist Lord Worm, Michael DiSalvo joined Cryptopsy and they signed with Century Media Records. Their album "Whisper Supremacy" (1998) further propelled them into success with worldwide tours and sales reaching up to 50,000 copies. Despite lineup changes over the years, including Martin Lacroix briefly replacing DiSalvo as vocalist before Lord Worm's return in 2003, Cryptopsy continued to push boundaries with albums like "And Then You'll Beg" (2000) and "Once Was Not" (2005).

In 2008, Cryptopsy took a different musical direction with the release of "The Unspoken King," incorporating elements of deathcore.
