Descendents

Descendents were formed in 1977 as an acoustic duo by Frank Navetta and David Nolte. Bill Stevenson soon joined as their drummer. Their debut release was the 7" single "Ride the Wild / It's a Hectic World," showcasing melodic garage pop. In 1980, Milo Aukerman joined as the lead singer, transforming Descendents into a punk band and becoming influential in the hardcore scene of Los Angeles. Their debut album, "Milo Goes to College," introduced melody and sensitivity uncommon in punk at that time.

After Milo went to college, Ray Cooper took over vocals temporarily while Bill Stevenson drummed for Black Flag. Descendents' gigs became sporadic until they returned with the album "I Don't Want to Grow Up" in 1985. The lineup changed multiple times over the years, but Descendents continued releasing albums like "Enjoy!" and "All." Their philosophy of ALL is about endless self-improvement and pursuing happiness through greatness.

In 1996, Descendents reformed with Milo Aukerman for the album "Everything Sucks." They have since released new material sporadically while performing live shows. In 2021, previously unreleased songs from their early days were recorded and released as "9th & Walnut." Despite facing challenges such as the passing of Frank Navetta in 2008, Descendents remain an influential punk band
