Eartha Kitt

Eartha Kitt was a talented actress, singer, and cabaret star. Born on January 17, 1927 in North (near Columbia), South Carolina, USA, she had a diverse heritage with an African American and Cherokee mother and a White-American father. Known for her incredible multilingual abilities, she effortlessly sang in 12 languages including English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Turkish ,Hebrew, Yiddish, Pakistani, Swedish , Tagalog, Italian. Orson Welles once referred to her as the "most exciting woman in the world". Throughout her career in the 1950's and 1960's she remained active in social and political movements.

Eartha Kitt also made a name for herself in film and television. She appeared in numerous films such as "New Faces", "Anna Lucasta" with Sammy Davis Jr., "Mark of the Hawk" with Sidney Poitier , "St. Louis Blues" with Nat King Cole , "Synanon", and "Boomerang" with Eddie Murphy among many others. Additionally,she lent her voice to several Disney films including Bagheera the black panther in Disney's Mowgli's Story and the villain Yzma in both The Emperor's New Groove and its spin-off Kronk's New Groove.
