Edgar Froese

Edgar Froese was a German artist and electronic music pioneer. Born on June 6, 1944 in Tilsit, East Prussia (now Sovetsk, Kaliningrad region, Russia), he began his musical career in 1965 with the rock group The Ones. After the group disbanded in 1967, Froese co-founded Tangerine Dream within the same year. Over the decades, he remained the only original member of the band and composed numerous works.

Froese was married to Monique Froese from 1970 until her death in 2000. He later married Bianca Acquaye. With his innovative contributions to electronic music, Edgar Froese influenced a generation of artists and left an indelible mark on the genre.
