Porcelain is Edward Rogers' fourth solo album on the independent Zip Records label. Porcelain finds Rogers moving in a new direction, inspired by records he listened to as a kid. He's made an album of harder edged rock songs, mixed with softer and also moodier songs than his past work. He takes his influences from favorite records of 1972-1975 - a timeless era - but recorded with a modern spin. The result is a special record that evokes the spirit of Mott The Hoople, Roxy Music, Syd Barrett, Kevin Ayers, Velvet Underground, and David Bowie to name a few. The lyrics are a reflection of today's times, some sentiments are universal, some very personal to the writer.
