Eric Clapton

Prolific English blues-rock guitarist, singer, songwriter/composer, and producer, affectionately known as "Slow Hand". Born 30 March, 1945 in Ripley, Surrey, England, UK.

Eric Clapton began his career with The Yardbirds before joining John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. He later formed bands such as Eric Clapton And The Powerhouse, Cream, Blind Faith and Derek & The Dominos. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades including eighteen Grammy Awards and four Ivor Novello awards. He is a three-time inductee into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2004, he received the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to music.

Clapton's personal life has been marked by various relationships and marriages. He was raised by his grandmother after his mother gave birth to him at a young age. His partner from the late 1960s to 1974 was Alice. He married Melia Clapton in 2002 and they have three daughters together: Julie Clapton, Ella Clapton, and Sophie Clapton.
