Gong

Gong is a pioneering psychedelic rock band that was formed in France in 1969. Led by [a10354] and [a258438], Gong created a unique blend of psychedelia, space-rock, and trip-rock with a conceptual ethos centered around aliens and alternative realities. Throughout their career, the band has undergone numerous lineup changes and reformations, collaborating with other bands from the Canterbury scene. Despite these changes, Gong's music has always remained innovative and captivating.

Over the years, Gong has explored various musical styles and genres. After the departure of Daevid as leader, [a4452] took over for a short period before the band transformed into a more jazz-rock styled group known as [a323088]. Additionally, there have been many offshoots of Gong such as Paragong, Planet Gong (2), Pierre Moerlen's Gong, Mother Gong, New York Gong, Gongmaison, Gongzilla, Gong Matrices, Gong Global Family, Acid Mothers Gong, and Gong Expresso.

Despite their ever-evolving lineup and sound variations since 1990,Gong continues to create music that pushes boundaries and captivates audiences worldwide. With their rich discography spanning several decades,Gong remains an influential force in the world of psychedelic rock.
