Gorguts

Gorguts is an innovative Canadian death metal band that was formed in 1989 in Richmond, Quebec, Canada. Known for their unique sound and musical style, Gorguts gained recognition in the metal scene until they disbanded following the tragic suicide of their drummer Steve MacDonald in 2002. However, singer Luc Lemay and former Gorguts guitarist Steeve Hurdle went on to start another project called Negativa.

In March 2009, Luc Lemay confirmed that a new lineup would begin recording material for a new album. The current lineup consists of Kevin Hufnagel on guitar, Luc Lemay on vocals and guitar, Patrice Hamelin on drums, and Colin Marston on bass. Throughout their career, Gorguts has had several former members who have contributed to their unique sound.

With influences from bands like Demilich, Immolation, Atheist, Suffocation, and many others from the death metal genre, Gorguts continues to push boundaries with their music. Their dedication to innovation and experimentation sets them apart as one of the most influential acts in Canadian death metal history.
