Jade Bird has returned with her second album, Different Kinds of Light. Translating conflicting emotios into sharply observed narrative vignettes, she shows her flair as a storyteller. With the help of grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, John Prine, Lady Gaga), Bird lets her sound find its groove. The album draws upon British influences, (The Smiths, Cocteau Twins), 90s alt-rock (Blur, Oasis), and Iggy Pop. "That rock element that I've been missing and deeply love," is how Jade describes it.
