Linval Thompson

Linval Thompson is a Jamaican reggae and dub musician, record producer, and label owner. Born on October 12, 1954 in Kingston, Jamaica, he was raised by his mother in Queens, New York. Starting his recording career in New York with *r=5911496*, Thompson later returned to Jamaica where he collaborated with *a=Phil Pratt* and worked at the renowned Black Ark studio with *a41272*. He also recorded with *a=Bunny Lee*, resulting in his debut album *m=374808* in 1976.

Thompson's talent extended beyond singing as he began producing his own material. His productions included notable albums like *m=151398* (1978) and the dub album *m=821084*, both released on the esteemed label *l2068*. Alongside his solo work, Thompson became a prominent producer for artists such as Dennis Brown, Cornell Campbell, The Wailing Souls, Barrington Levy, Trinity and more.
