Lungfish

Lungfish is an American post-hardcore band that was founded in 1987 in Baltimore, Maryland. The group originated from a collaboration between vocalist Daniel Higgs and bassist John Chriest, who created sound collages and loops for Higgs' poetry readings. They later joined forces with guitarist Asa Osborne, who had previously played in the hardcore band Reptile House with Higgs. After adding drummer Mitchell Feldstein to the lineup, Lungfish released their debut album "Necklace of Heads" through Simple Machines and Dischord Records.

Despite facing uncertainty when Higgs moved to San Francisco early on, the positive response to "Necklace of Heads" encouraged Lungfish to continue touring. Throughout their career, they primarily worked with Dischord Records. In 1994, Chriest left the band and was replaced by Sean Meadows from June Of 44. Nathan Bell took over as bassist starting from 1998's "Artificial Horizon," but Meadows returned for the release of their 2003 LP "Love Is Love."

Since 2005, Lungfish has been on indefinite hiatus.
