Martha Wainwright

Martha Wainwright, born on May 8th, 1976 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a talented artist and musician. She comes from a musical family with her father being Loudon Wainwright III and her mother being Kate McGarrigle. Martha's siblings include Rufus Wainwright and half-sister Lucy Wainwright Roche. With her impressive vocals and songwriting skills, Martha has appeared on various recordings by her family members. She has also released several independent EPs throughout her career.

In 2005, Martha released her full-length self-titled album which quickly gained recognition as it debuted at number eighteen on the Canadian album sales charts. Her music showcases a unique blend of folk and rock influences combined with heartfelt lyrics that resonate with listeners.

Beyond her musical achievements, Martha married producer and bassist Brad Albetta in September 2007; however, they divorced in 2018. As the granddaughter of Anna McGarrigle and niece of musicians such as Rufus Wainwright and Sloan Wainwright among others, Martha continues to carry forward the legacy of her talented family through her own remarkable contributions to the music industry.
