Sloan

Sloan is a Toronto-based rock quartet originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They have been active since 1991 and are known for their energetic live performances and catchy rock anthems.

The group was formed in 1991 when Chris Murphy and Andrew Scott met at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in Halifax. Patrick Pentland and Jay Ferguson joined soon after. In 1992, the band created their own record label, Murderecords, to release records by Sloan and other bands from the Halifax area. Their debut EP, "Peppermint," was released that same year.

Sloan's music has been influenced by various genres including power pop, indie rock, and alternative rock. They have released numerous albums throughout their career and have gained a loyal fanbase both in Canada and internationally. Some of their popular songs include "Underwhelmed," "Money City Maniacs," and "The Good in Everyone."
