The Chi-Lites are a soul/funk group that was formed in 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. Originally called the Hi-Lites, they changed their name to incorporate the 'Chi' from their hometown. Led by Eugene Record, they released 15 albums between 1969 and 1990.
Known for their timeless classics "Have You Seen Her" and "Oh Girl", The Chi-Lites have left an indelible mark on the music industry. Their smooth harmonies and heartfelt lyrics continue to resonate with audiences today.
In addition to Eugene Record's leadership, Frank "T'Challah" Reed joined The Chi-Lites in 1988 and remained with them until his untimely passing in February 2014. His powerful vocals added depth and richness to the group's sound.

The Chi-Lites' third album, "(For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People", finds the group tapping into the social consciousness movement of the early '70s, presumably influenced by contemporaries like Sly &amp; the Family Stone and fellow Chicagoan Curtis Mayfield. They had one of sweetest voices in soul music with Eugene Record, but their 1971 release showed a different side of the band, both in terms of lyrical content and production on tracks like "We Are Neighbors". Ironically, the biggest single on the album was "Have You Seen Her?", a sweet soul ballad which topped the R&amp;B charts. "(For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People" was the best album the Chi-Lites ever released, and it's finally back on vinyl for the first time in decades, remastered from original Brunswick Records tapes. This Indie Exclusive is pressed on green swirl color vinyl, limited to 300 copies, and only available at independent record stores.
