Album artwork for Get Lost by The Magnetic Fields

Stephin Merritt is undoubtably a genius. this man must be the devil himself as he is living proof that the devil has all the best tunes. 'get lost' is one of their best albums and was originally released in 1995. Merritt's voice is mournful and sombre in all the right places although he is capable of sounding urgent with expectation and hope on songs like 'famous'. the standout has to be 'the desperate things you make me do' with it's chorus of "i dedicate this song to you / for all the desperate things you make me do / i'd like to beat you black and blue / for all the agony you have put me through." on merge.
