The Streets

Mike Skinner, born on November 27, 1978 in Birmingham and currently residing in Brixton, is a renowned artist. His passion for music began at a young age when he started experimenting with keyboards. To pursue his dreams of launching his own record label, he worked various jobs in fast food restaurants. As a teenager, he even built a recording studio in the confines of his bedroom cupboard.

In search of inspiration and new experiences, Mike embarked on a journey to Australia at the age of 19, taking along his trusty sampler as company. His talent and dedication paid off when his first two albums under The Streets moniker were nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize: "Original Pirate Material" in 2002 and "A Grand Don't Come For Free" in 2004.

The summer of 2004 saw Mike Skinner achieve commercial success with the Top 5 hit "Fit But You Know It." He has graced both the dance tent and main stage at Reading Festival with captivating live performances that showcase his unique style. With an impressive career spanning genres and captivating audiences worldwide, Mike Skinner continues to leave an indelible mark on the music industry.
