The Whispers

The Whispers are a soul group that was formed in 1964 in Watts, California. The original members were the texan twin brothers Wallace Scott and Walter Scott, along with Gordy Harmon, Marcus Hutson, and Nicholas Caldwell. Over their more than 50-year career, they have released 25 albums and scored 49 hit singles on the R'n'B chart. They have been recognized for their contributions to music by being inducted into both the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the R&B Music Hall of Fame.

Throughout their career, The Whispers have recorded for various labels including Dore, Soul Clock, Roker Records, Janus Records, Soul Train, Solar, Capitol Records, Interscope, and Kingdom. Their biggest hits include "And The Beat Goes On," "Rock Steady," "Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong," "Make It With You," "Lady," "It's A Love Thing," "In The Raw," "Tonight," "Keep On Lovin' Me," "Innocent," "My Heart Your Heart," and "Is It Good To You."

In addition to their own songs, The Whispers have performed covers of Donny Hathaway's "A Song For Donny" and Barbara Lewis' classic song "Hello Stranger."
