American Pilgrimage

Sanjay Chitale made it his mission to help Sandeep Chowta, close friend and prolific Bollywood music director, meet his American jazz idols. Sandeeps dream soon turned into an artistic pilgrimage for the two Indian musicians. The duo traveled across the US for two years, living and making music with a host of jazz legends, including Andy LaVerne and John Scofield. The collaboration yielded American Pilgrimage, an album of Indian melody and jazz improvisation a cross-cultural intersection seldom heard in the jazz world.
