Wojciech Kilar

Wojciech Kilar was a Polish composer, born on July 17th, 1932 in Lwów, Poland (now Ukraine), and passed away on December 29th, 2013 in Katowice. He was an influential figure in the Polish avant-garde movement of the Sixties alongside Krzysztof Penderecki and Henryk Górecki. With a career spanning over several decades, Kilar composed scores for more than 100 films in Poland, France, Germany, and Hollywood. His collaborations with renowned directors such as Roman Polanski, Francis Ford Coppola, and Jane Campion established him as one of the most sought-after composers in the industry.
