Billy Preston

American keyboardist, singer, and songwriter Billy Preston was a versatile musician whose work spanned multiple genres including rhythm & blues, soul, funk, and gospel. Born on September 2, 1946 in Houston, Texas and raised primarily in Los Angeles, California. He collaborated with numerous iconic artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and many more throughout his successful career.

Preston played the Fender Rhodes electric piano and the Hammond organ on the legendary "Let It Be" sessions in 1969. Notably, he is one of only two non-Beatles to receive billing as an artist alongside The Beatles on an official record release. His contributions were recognized when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Musical Excellence Award in 2021.

Billy Preston's remarkable talent and collaborations solidified his status as a highly respected figure in the music industry. Sadly, he passed away on June 6th, 2006 in Scottsdale Arizona but his legacy lives on through his influential music.
